Hey there,
I hosted a workshop that I’m so excited to share with you on a really important topic: Your Inner Critic.
Ah, that pesky little thing.
It’s always there. And, if you actually slow down enough to listen to the voice in your head all day long, you’ll realize just how THERE it really is!
Why’d you say that.
Oh gosh, you just sounded so dumb.
You can’t do it. Don’t even bother trying.
She’s really pretty. If only you could stop eating so much sugar all the time, you could look like her.
You need to be more social.
Smarter.
Skinnier.
More go-with-the-flow.
Oh you know, it’s endless.
One of the biggest “inner critic” thoughts I used to have about myself was that I wasn’t loveable if I wasn’t skinny.
That one pesky thought… that ONE thought…dictated YEARS of my life.
That one thought caused me to start controlling my weight when I was 16 and therefore controlling the food I ate.
That one thought caused me to start sneaking food, emotionally eating and binge eating.
That one thought caused my self esteem to nosedive, always thinking I wasn’t enough.
That one thought kept me trapped inside my own mental and body jail for 10 years instead of living my life.
All because of one freakin’ thought.
One thought that, years later, I would find out to be totally FALSE.
If only I could go back and re-write that belief.
If only I knew what I know now… that our thoughts are not necessarily real.
That we have this thing called our inner critic which is trying it’s darn hardest to protect us, but sometimes it does that in a really limiting, fearful way.
If I had been able to see that thought for what it was – instead of REALITY – those 10 years of serious struggle could have looked a lot different.
Even today, while I don’t suffer from believing in that exact thought, I still have limiting thoughts and beliefs all the time.
But the difference now is that I have the knowledge, self-awareness, and tools to be able to step outside of those thoughts, question them, see how my belief in those thoughts is actually literally creating my life in a way I don’t want, and change them.
When we change our thoughts, we change our actions. And when we change our actions, we change our lives.
It’s THE most powerful thing we can learn.
I paired up with leadership and mindset coach Romy Rost for a free workshop all about how to find the truth when your inner critic is taking over.
Romy and I are going to help you find the truth of who you are… beyond your limiting beliefs and stories.
You’ll learn how to identify which beliefs are actually running your life + then how to discover what’s really true.
I wish I had known the truth 15 years ago… that of course I was loveable at the weight I was already at. That I didn’t need to lose those 10 pounds.
Things would have looked a lot different. But then again, maybe I wouldn’t be here writing this to you 🙂
Here’s where to access this FREE workshop with Romy and I.
Also, we will dive even deeper into all of this work during my signature Master Your Life Virtual Group Course that opens again in the Fall. This is SO POWERFUL and has the potential to completely change the way you operate…moving you toward what you really WANT and away from what you DON’T. Get all the details on the MYL Course here.
Lots of love,
Jamie
