One year 👏🏻👏🏻 one year as a mom and a dad, one year of trying to figure out this motherhood thing, one year of seeing this little girl experience the world and grow into her own. I wish I could capture it all.

Annd the little muffin is O N E 🎂🎉

Not a day goes by that I still don’t pinch myself that you’re mine

That somehow your dad and I created something so beautiful and perfect

I can already feel time slipping through my fingers as you grow so fast, and the ache in my heart of knowing this is just how it’s going to continue to be — there’s no way to slow it down

So I’ll just do my best to keep taking you in

Every day

Your chubby thighs
Your beautiful deep blue eyes
Your soft little hands all over us
Your 1000 hilarious facial expressions
Your whines, your cries, your laughs, your fake coughs to get our attention
The way you mischievously look at us when we say no
The way you say dada and hi all day long
Your incredible bedhead
Your hugs that are really just starting to be real hugs
Your two-tooth smile that melts everyone’s hearts
Your fierce independence to explore the world and do things your way
Your curiosity to take in every single thing around you

I could go on and on
The million little things that make you you
I don’t want to forget a thing
But I know I will

Watching you grow is so bittersweet, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever had the opportunity to do

I’m so grateful for you, my little love, every single day

Thank you for the most incredible first year learning how to be a mom

You’re simply the best. Love you muffin.

Things I learned about travel as a mom and what he

Things I learned about travel as a mom and what helps me bloom in this area of life…

🌸 the way we figure out what works for us, is all about trial and error

🌸travel is a major value of mine and I want to figure out a way to have it feel so good even when leaving my kid behind

🌸as soon as I was on the plane, it felt easier // physically disconnecting and not always being in the same space as my kid is good for the soul

🌸next time, I would only go where I could be close to an airport in case anything happens at home (which in this case it did, and I was panicking being 4+ hours away from an airport)

🌸at this point, 3 nights away from charlie feels very doable // anything more and my nerves kick in // I pushed myself a little too much on this trip

🌸Ryan and I both really crave the feeling of just having fun and getting to “play” when we’re together // the way to allow us to get into that state is to set ourselves up with a trip that feels easy // this trip felt a little too hard and didn’t quite allow us to feel that as much as we wanted

🌸above all else, listening to my gut is the most important lesson and one that was solidified even more on this trip // regardless of what anyone else is doing, you know yourself, you know your kids, you know what you and they need 💕 what would happen if you really listened to that feeling?
