Things I learned about travel as a mom and what he

Things I learned about travel as a mom and what helps me bloom in this area of life…

🌸 the way we figure out what works for us, is all about trial and error

🌸travel is a major value of mine and I want to figure out a way to have it feel so good even when leaving my kid behind

🌸as soon as I was on the plane, it felt easier // physically disconnecting and not always being in the same space as my kid is good for the soul

🌸next time, I would only go where I could be close to an airport in case anything happens at home (which in this case it did, and I was panicking being 4+ hours away from an airport)

🌸at this point, 3 nights away from charlie feels very doable // anything more and my nerves kick in // I pushed myself a little too much on this trip

🌸Ryan and I both really crave the feeling of just having fun and getting to “play” when we’re together // the way to allow us to get into that state is to set ourselves up with a trip that feels easy // this trip felt a little too hard and didn’t quite allow us to feel that as much as we wanted

🌸above all else, listening to my gut is the most important lesson and one that was solidified even more on this trip // regardless of what anyone else is doing, you know yourself, you know your kids, you know what you and they need 💕 what would happen if you really listened to that feeling?

I’d love to hear, what have you learned about travel as a mom, leaving your kids behind? What helps you bloom in this setting? 🥰💕

It’s like I blinked… and everything was differ

It’s like I blinked… and everything was different.

As my therapist said, ‘the infrastructure’ of my life + what worked for me was all of a sudden completely different.

New home.
New town.
New baby.
New identity as a mom.
New roles.
New environment.
New spaces.
New schedules.
New people around.
New version of my body.

Before I had Charlotte, I was in such a groove.

I knew what I needed to thrive.

And then SO much changed last year — and I felt myself looking at this life that was so unrecognizable to my previous life, not quite sure how to thrive within it all.

Don’t get me wrong — I was the happiest I’ve been in so many ways.

But was I blooming?
Was I finding a groove in which I could thrive?
Was I feeling nourished and in alignment?

Eh, can’t quite say yes to all of these questions.

And so I started to look at this life — this life that I was insanely grateful for and that suddenly looked SO different — and ask myself the big questions about what I need NOW to bloom. To shine. To thrive.

These questions pushed me to explore all corners of myself — and tbh, sometimes it’s been very uncomfortable and confronting, but it’s been so worth it.

I’ve come a long way and its been an incredibly empowering journey to be reminded once again that we ARE the co-creators of this one precious life we get to live. We always have choices.

And if we aren’t asking these questions for ourselves, then who will?

I want to leave you with this today — it’s likely that you, too, sometimes look at your life and say, ‘wow, things are so different these days’. And the ‘infrastructure’ that used to help you thrive no longer applies.

Make sure you take some time to recognize how it IS a different season now. Things HAVE changed. Life IS changing. And how can you let go of the ‘old way’ you used to do things, and start to figure out what helps you bloom in this current phase, right now?

It’ll likely take some experimentation. Some trial and error. Some self discovery.

But you deserve to bloom, my darling. I’m always here cheering you on.💐🌸
