The Reality Of My Sometimes Messy Life (+ a no cost offer for you)

Today I want to let you in a bit on the reality of my life.

Not what the instagram pictures show.

Not just what my coaching blog posts say about things I’ve overcome and learned.

Not just the highs (which yes, there are plenty of).

There is such a misconception about what life should or could look and feel like.

We are constantly bombarded with highlight reels of people’s’ lives, messages about how people got over their issues and “if you just follow these steps, you can too”, and it leaves us always thinking that life should somehow feel…

More tidy.

As a “self-care” teacher, people often assume that I have it “all together”, and that my days are mainly blissful, filled with lots of yoga, calm, and smooth sailing.

Those close to me know that’s just not always the case, and it’s important to me that you see the real picture of my life, too.

My brand is called “Master Your Life” and I want to be clear about what that means…

Mastering Your Life does not mean that everything is easy. Or perfect. Or that you always know how to care for yourself. Or that you’re always grounded, calm, and peaceful.

It doesn’t mean that your house is always clean, that you’re always nice to your kids, that you eat vegetables and pizza in a perfect balance.

Heck no.

Mastering Your Life means that you move through your messy, beautiful life with as much self-compassion, grace, and resilience as possible.

It means that you expect the highs AND you expect the lows, and you ride the waves, welcoming in whatever phase you’re in without judgement.

It means that you really allow yourself to feel, even in the toughest of times. In those inevitable moments of self-doubt, or when you just feel deep down that you’re worthless or unlovable, you allow yourself to truly feel how awful that feels, and you know how to navigate the depths of your darkness without drowning.

It means that you stay devoted to your deep desires and you fight for them. No matter how hard-to-admit or scary it may be, you go after your dreams.

It means that you throw yourself into vulnerability, time and time again, because you know that a life spent hiding in fear is not a full and rich life.

It means that you’re willing to make mistakes and even fail, because you know that you’re strong and resilient enough to handle anything.

It means that you have the courage to celebrate yourself. You’re able to open your eyes enough to see just how loved, supported and valued you are. You actually LET yourself receive compliments, because you know you deserve to be loved, appreciated, and acknowledged.

It means that you choose yourself, over and over and over again. In all of your glory, and in all of your crap. You choose to love yourself even when you’re at your worst, and you don’t feel selfish doing it.

It means that you give attention and space to all parts of yourself: the parts that are “evolved” and confident, and also the parts that are childish and scared.

When you’re “Mastering Your Life”, you…

  • Gracefully handle a bad body image day. It doesn’t take you down.
  • Go after what you truly want, no matter how scary.
  • Celebrate yourself, all the time.
  • Pay attention to yourself, your needs, and your desires.
  • Choose yourself, over and over and over.
  • Talk to yourself kindly even after overeating or skipping the gym 5 days in a row.
  • Give yourself time to cry, get angry, and fall apart.

I could keep going :), but I think you get the point.

My life is messy, just like yours probably is.

Each day is a wild ride of circumstances, of emotions, of things changing.

As I continue to do this work, life doesn’t get “easier”, I just get better and better at riding the waves. I know myself better. I know my needs. I practice and practice and practice greater levels of self-compassion and unconditional love toward myself.

I’ve become braver, more confident and more loving.

I mess up. I try again.

Sometimes I flail around, not knowing how to make myself feel better. I figure it out, usually with a TON of support from other people.

I take chances, not knowing what the heck I’m doing, and I stumble my way through.

I beat myself up, feel like a horrible human with nothing to offer, and then I find my way back “home” to loving myself again.

This is what my life is really like. And I wouldn’t change it for anything.

One of my favorite things to do is work with women on Mastering Their Lives in a private mentorship setting.

We get to dig in, rewire, refresh… and these women start living in a different way.

They stop judging themselves constantly and start treating themselves with kindness… this is ultimately what creates confidence.

They stop panicking when life throws them a curveball or when things aren’t going as planned, and start feeling truly proud of themselves for how they navigate these moments with courage and maturity.

They stop putting up walls, masks and shields to hide who they really are from the world, and they start proudly showing up as their real selves, finding comfort within their vulnerability.

They wake up to LIFE outside of their worries about their bodies, food, and what other people think.

They learn tools for dealing with what’s hard, they develop a deep love for themselves, and they begin naturally wanting to celebrate what’s good.

If you want to work with me on Mastering Your Life, I have FIVE spots opening up in my 6 Month Private Mentorship Program in June.
